Management Information Workshop held on 23rd-24th March 04 at FMC, Bangalore
In ISPWDK, special focus is given to the development of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Systems. In October of 2002, the M&E Strategies and Systems for the three partners were developed in a joint workshop with the ISPWDK NGO partners and WOTR, a resource organization based in Ahmadnagar. Subsequently, WOTR was also entrusted with the responsibility of designing the MIS software based on the M&E systems. In June 2003, workshops were held in all three project offices for finalising the M&E formats. In August 2003, trainings were held for the partner staff in their respective project office on the first version of the software. The socio- economic data entry formats were discussed in great detail and the contours of the other sections were displayed. The first version of the software was installed in all three NGO offices. After the training, the partners embarked on the data entry of the socio- economic information and WOTR on further software development. The data entered by partners was sent to WOTR who updated it to the new databases and returned it to the partners. SAMUHA had entered the data for the villages in a different set of tables in 2001. This data was converted to the ISPWDK databases by WOTR.
By the end of February 2004, the data entry process/data conversion of two partners was nearing completion. All three partners had undergone a learning experience during the data entry/data conversion process. By this time, WOTR too had completed the development and testing of the different sections of the software. Hence, a common training for partner staff, who were involved intimately with the data entry process, was planned in Bangalore on 23rd and 24th March 2004. Objectives The two day training was residential in nature and covered the following objectives:-
