participatory & assessment of ISPWDK Phase-II in three watersheds A participatory review - approaches and methods The review is covering both field and desk work. Thus it is taking into account project documents and records, as well as meeting with key stakeholders in all three watersheds. Five days have been taken for such interactions in each watershed. On the first day in each watershed, the review team has been provided with presentations by a variety of community representatives (in a similar manner to that practiced in JPRs). On subsequent days, the team has split to cover different aspects, making selective visits to the field and holding meetings with small groups. A variety of participatory tools such as matrix ranking, venn diagrams and time lines have been employed for data gathering. On the final day, the team has presented its findings back to the community representatives and NGO partner staff. Most of the review has been conducted in Kannada, with the occasional use of English when non-Kannada speakers have visited. The final write-up will be in both Kannada and English.
