the approaches
- MYRADA is equipped with motivated staff with commitments. They will be provided with regular training and exposure visits to further develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes.
- The project will focus on the poor landless, especially women, and encourage them to take up income generating activities. By providing proper training and linkages, the skills required to manage on their own, and the support of the VDS, MYRADA aims to help them rise above the poverty line.
- MYRADA will establish Community Based Organisations (CBOs) such as the Village Development Society (VDS), Governing Council (GC), Village Watershed Management Committees (VWMC), Self Affinity Groups (SAG), and the User Groups (UGs). Talented local resource persons - both women and men - will be trained and their services utilised.
- Available services from line departments such as Agriculture, Forests, Financial Institutions and other resource institutions will be utilised.
- MYRADA will encourage the community to avail of loans from various outside resource organisations. The concerned VDS will work out guidelines to provide support for livelihood and livestock promotion activities.
- MYRADA will identify and provide the skills required to promote livelihoods.
- MYRADA looks forward to forming a Resource Centre consisting of all Community Based Oraganisations by the beginning of the third year. It is already developing a concept on the Resource Centre, which is in its initial stages.
