livelihood and livestock promotion

Livelihood and livestock promotion help the community increase their income and food security. This activity ensures that the farmer always has an alternative option open in the event of crop failure. It also provides landless farmers and poor women with an alternative source of income.

The main focus areas are:

  • Micro enterprises
  • Upgrading the local livestock through AI
  • Ethno-veterinary practices
  • FYM storage and management
  • Fodder development

Expected results for the year 2002 to 2005:

  • The livelihood situation in the community will improve through improved management practices
  • Landless poor women will get more income
  • An improved quality of livestock
  • Linkage with the milk society will be developed
  • Livestock population will be reduced. This will help farmers maintain small herds of better breeds.
