the strategies

The project will focus on capacity building for the Village Development Society (VDS), Village Watershed Management Committee (VWMC), and the Governing Council (GC). It will develop the necessary skills to plan, budget, implement and monitor the activity.

One of the strategies of the project will be to organise the Gram Sabha. This will involve the participation of the entire village, and the training provided will equip them to manage the activity.

Identify and promote traditional knowledge in agriculture and watershed structures and manage the assets created in the village.

Adopt participatory micro planning process for watershed rehabilitation.

Increase participation of women in the various project committees and forums. Their strength is already 50% in the VDS Executive Committee.

The project will promote low cost, appropriate structures for watershed rehabilitation.

Provide platforms for the linkages with line departments and various resource organisations.
