Munjavu groups were encouraged to hold Munjavu Annual Days in their respective villages as part of the Women's Day Celebration on March 8.
Various dates were chosen for the celebration depending on what the groups found convenient. Munjavu groups in Nandapur village celebrated their Annual Day on July 23.
Members of all five Munjavu groups in the village took on the responsibility of organisation the celebration and around 49 people participated in the function. The celebrations began at 6.30 pm.
Girish Kulkarni, Manager of Tungabhadra Grameen Bank (TGB), Tavaragera; a Gram Panchayat member; Vishalakshamma and Muthamma of RGB; and Mallamma, a group representative, attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Kulkarni urged all members to use banking credit facilities more often to improve their economic conditions. Muthamma, RGB member, requested the members of thrift groups to join the Munjavu Mahila Sahakar. This was followed by a street play on Munjavu Sahakar staged by the Chetan Kala Tanda.
