A study was conducted by students of IIFM on common property resource management in watershed with special focus on forest and revenue lands in ISPWDK phase II.

The aim of the study was to look into the feasibility of collective action for effective utilization of common property resources in the watershed areas of Upper Mullamari, Maramari and Kanakanala.

The objective was to assess situations of CPR in watershed (especially forestland, revenue land, roadside land, water bodies and temple lands) and prevailing institutional mechanisms of the management of CPR and its development and propose methods to develop linkages with other institutions.

The study proposed Appropriate institutional mechanisms in compliance with rules and regulations of forest department and which involve the villagers for the participation in management.

The Study also brought out the institutional mechanism suggested by the villagers for the CPR development, which shall be pursued by the policy makers for the related developmental schemes.
