MYRADA trains its community, staff and institutions to become self reliant and technically sound so that they can maintain the productivity of the watershed. Training in Agriculture Production is given to the resource persons, animators, farmers and farmwomen of the project. This will impart traditional knowledge in agriculture, and encourage decision making by farmers through the Farmers Field School (FFS). There will be increased food production, fodder production and multiplication of local seeds. Capacity Building for Livelihood Promotion focuses on women and marketing facilities. The project will identify the beneficiaries for livelihood options with priority given to the landless, poor women and marginalised people.
Capacity Building for Resource persons Agriculture production will provide resource persons with knowledge in traditional agriculture and promote the concept of decision making by farmers through the FFS. Capacity Building for Livestock Management will help identify the potentials for promoting livestock and develop awareness through training and workshops. For the year 2002 to 2005, training will be given to 25 resource persons from three villages and three tandas. Training in Livelihood Promotion will help the NGO staff and animators acquire special skills and approaches for promoting livelihood in the project area. Livestock Management
NGO staff and the animators will be trained to adequately document project events. They will also be equipped to develop and document case studies from the project. These skills will be provided through training in Documentation. |
