documentation

The strategy adopted in Documentation is to expose the PRAWARDA staff to skill trainings that will hone their documentation skills. Here, documentation skills include compiling a database on project experiences for project use as well as developing, compiling and dispersing information for the benefit of the community. At the village and community based organisation (CBO) level, local educated youth are trained to support the staff.

From conceiving project approaches to achieving envisaged targets under each thrust area, gender and equity is given priority. About 80 percent of the Self Help Groups comprise women. Similarly, farmers, landless, artisans etc., are given a space for participation in all CBOs.

The very essence of documentation is to contribute to the knowledge base on project planning, implementation, monitoring tools etc., many of which include novel experiences and innovative methodologies. The sustainability is seen at a broader level in terms of ISPWDK contribution towards Natural Resource Management (NRM) project planning and implementation through people's institutions.

The project also documents project experiences, innovative approaches, and techniques to be shared among partners, and contributes to the watershed related practical knowledge.
